INFORMATION FOR SPEAKERS AND SESSION CHAIRS

ORAL PRESENTATION

Acoustic timing signals will be used

45 minute invited lectures:

• 2 bells at start

• 1 bell at 40' from the start (from here the speaker is infringing on the time which should be devoted to discussions)

• signal to stop at 45'

10 minute L-presentations:

• 2 bells at start

• 1 bell at 7' from the start

• signal to stop at 10'

3 minute S-presentations:

• 2 bells at start

• signal to stop at 3'

All speakers are kindly asked to respect their time limit and not to infringe on the time allotted to fellow speakers !

To minimize the transition time between successive speakers the Chairperson, when presenting a given speaker, will already announce the name of the following speaker who should then move to a reserved seat in the front.

PROJECTION EQUIPMENT

• One standard overhead projector

• Video projector accepting all VHS and laser disk formats (coding : SECAM, PAL and NTSC). Betacam also accepted (only with PAL). Video projection is available only for invited speakers and L-type talks (10'). If you intend to use it, you should notify the chairperson of your session and hand the video material to the technician (in the projection room near the entrance of the conference room). This material should be labeled with your name, title of the talk and duration of the video projection. When organizing your talk, please add to the time of your video 2 extra minutes for manipulations and adjustments.

POSTERS

The size of posters is: maximum width = 80 cm, maximum height = 115cm. The posters will be on display for two full days. They come in two groups: A, associated to flash sessions 1, 2 and 3 and B, associated to flash sessions 4, 5 and 6 (see the Scientific Program for the information on flash sessions). Group A posters can be set up from Monday June 29, 16:00 and should be removed before the end of the Wednesday afternoon coffee break (otherwise they will be removed by the organizers, as carefully as possible). Group B posters can be set up from Wednesday July 1, 18:30 and will remain on display until the end of the Conference. Each poster has a number associated to it (actually, this is the abstract number) which appears in the Scientific Program and also in the list of posters on p. 16 (posters are displayed in alphabetical order). Poster panels will be identified by that number and by the name of the presentator on a label which should not be removed. Posters will be affixed with pins or special devices (provided by us) on a soft felt-type background (no scotch tape should be used).
